Founded in 1946, the Polk City Fire Department is a highly skilled organization providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue, fire prevention, public education and other related services to the citizens, businesses, neighbors, and visitors to the area. With a response area of approximately 70 square miles in the northwest quadrant of Polk County, the Polk City Fire Department responds to approximately 400 calls for service per year.

The membership is comprised of highly motivated men and women serving in a 100% volunteer/ paid on call capacity. The members of the Polk City Fire Department are highly motivated and truly dedicated to providing the highest level of service possible to meet the needs of the area. In addition to responding to emergency calls for service, the members continually attend training and practice their skills in order to ensure the best level of service possible. The City of Polk City is fortunate and appreciative to have the commitment and dedication from the membership of the PCFD!
